Virtual Race Application Form Bio of Dharam Paul Piplani by Charlie Alewine I met Paul for the first time in 2004, but didn't start running with him until the Moab Marathon in Utah in May, 2005. The next day we ran the Fort Collins Marathon together in Colorado. After that, we ran many marathons and ultras together. Because our pace was so similarly slow, we usually ran every step of races together, including several 100 milers. Paul ran in every state many times over. He ran in many countries, and he ran on every continent. He usually did two marathons or ultras every weekend. He loved to run. He could tell some incredible stories, and although most people coudln't imagine what he went through to get to, and get through, so many races, the stories were true. Paul is missed by thousands of runners and others across the country. I'm hoping to see shirts from the November 1st, 2009 marathon I'm hosting in his honor, bearing his picture, for years to come. |
