Is the course Boston Certified?
No, none of the courses are certified. However, each has been run multiple times while using Garmin/GPS devices, and are quite accurate at marathon/half distance.
Is there an early start?
Starting early is sometimes an option. Please contact the RD to inquire if this is possible prior to race day.
Is there a participant limit?
Yes- all races are capped at 25 people. This small setting has been found to be quite enjoyable by most runners- everyone knows everyone by name and generally has quite a cordial time! It keeps them low-key & fun!
Is there a course time limit?
No. Finishing times have ranged from 3 to 8 hours.
Are there transfers or refunds?
No refunds, and transfers are generally discouraged as this can cause some confusion & difficulty. However, if absolutely needed, please contact the RD.
Is the course chip timed?
No. There is an official clock with which the time is kept, but since the race is capped at 25 participants, it is quite simple to keep track of each runner as he/she comes in for each lap, and then get a final time on the final lap.
Is there an expo/packet pick up?
No- Please come on race morning about one hour to 30 minutes early to get your shirt & to hear additional info on the course.
What is traffic/parking like in the morning?
Since these races are low-key, with anywhere from 10-25 runners, traffic is never an issue (as it pertains to traffic from fellow race participants- but be sure to always plan ahead for possible traffic issues for other reasons!), and usually neither is parking. No shuttles are ever needed to get to our races. For any transportation concerns, please inquire for the individual race.
What is the course like- hilly etc?
A course description (and sometimes map) is listed for each race. Generally, the courses are run near parks and small community settings, and are typically fairly flat, with occasional rolling hills. Surfaces vary, but are a good mix of trails & roads. Please see individual course description for each race.
Does the course allow headphones, dogs, or strollers?
Headphones are permitted- but use caution. The courses are typically dog friendly, but use discretion. And strollers are also generally okay.
Is there a gear check?
You can leave all gear at the aid station at the race start, if needed. However, since parking is usually nearby, leaving items in your car is typically the best idea.
How frequent are aid stations and what is at them?
Aid stations are provided at the start of each loop, so depending on the race it is around every 2-3 miles. There you will find ample Gatorade, water, and snacks. And friendly faces cheering you on!
How are bathrooms along the course?
Most courses are run as a 2-3 mile loop, on which there are usually 2-5 bathroom. Inquire for specific race if more info is needed.
What amenities come with the race?
The race fee includes a nice shirt, a cool medal, a trophy for top 3 finishers in each race (and last place) and also Gatorade & water at the course aid station, as well as snacks to be consumed during or after the race.
